The majority of campsites that I reserved are pull-thru sites, where true to the name you just have to pull the camper into it and then for departure you can head straight out. Riveredge RV Park in Pigeon Forge was one of the rare ones that required me to back the trailer into the site. It was a victorious and glorious moment when I backed it perfectly into place on the first attempt. There was a happy dance performed upon exiting my truck and a couple of high-fives.

After everything was setup it was the routine of adding any new state stickers (due to all the rain the day before we hadn’t yet added the Tennessee sticker) and then wine and cheese to celebrate. We discovered that our favorite activity each day was sitting in our camp chairs and watching new campers arrive and set-up. This was a great RV park for that with lots of activity and a great spot in the middle of it all to enjoy it. With several days to enjoy the Pigeon Forge area we had time to have our first meal of the trip that was cooked in the camper (a yummy chili). So happy that it was such a great experience and made me fall in love with the RV lifestyle. While in the area I would recommend a meal at The Apple Barn, a dinner show at Dolly Parton’s Stampede, and sample the moonshine at Ole Smoky Moonshine in Gatlinburg.
