I was happy to have Wolfie in tow as I returned to Arizona and the high elevations of Flagstaff. We set up camp at the Woody Mountain Campground on Route 66. After so many weeks in the desert heat I was in absolute heaven and excited to put on a sweatshirt as I enjoyed life sitting outside Wolfie and meeting people in the RV park. Unfortunately, the next day it was back into heat as I headed to Phoenix to pick up friends at the airport and stay with my good friend in Phoenix.

After so much time solo on the road it was wonderful to be with familiar faces. After a photo shoot with the saguaros it was off to Flagstaff. We stopped to see Montezuma’s castle and enjoy some Navajo fry bread.

While life in a camper, using public showers and emptying the black water tank was normal for me, it was fun to share the experience with first time RVers. We all survived the night and had clear skies to see the milky way.

Enjoyed breakfast at the camp and then it was off to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Visibility was so much better than when I was on the North Rim. It was an absolutely beautiful day spent exploring the canyon. No picture will ever do it justice, it is something to be experienced.

We left the Grand Canyon and headed to Sedona, with a stop at Cameron Trading Post for Navajo tacos. It was pitch black by now as we neared Sedona and our route there took us for a wild ride through a mountain pass with switchback and hairpin turns which was scary to navigate in the dark with anxious passengers. We were spooked as we arrived at a home in Sedona but happy to wake up to amazing views of red rocks.

We were obsessed with prickly pear flavored everything and were way too curious and wanted to pick one to try. I highly advise against this, wasn’t our best idea.

The wild rides continued as we took a Pink Jeep tour out into the red rocks of Sedona. I’ve been on rollercoasters that weren’t as steep as the road we were on. It was all worth it to enjoy the views, including the famous white line mountain biking trail (if you can call it a trail).

We soaked in all the spiritual powers of Sedona with multiple trips up to the airport vortex with crystals in tow. We ended the trip watching the sunset up at the airport vortex. I returned my friends to Phoenix to catch their flights and I reunited with Wolfie in Flagstaff.
