Crossed into New Mexico and added the final sticker to the map. I towed Wolfie all around the US, across 29 states. It felt really good to add the final sticker. All the weeks of planning had come to life and I was feeling like a pro.
For the third time on the journey my parents joined me. This was a time to celebrate everything that had happened since I last saw them. We toured Las Cruces and enjoyed dinner together.
The next day we headed to White Sands National Park. It is one of the newer National Parks, promoted in December 2019. I was very excited to visit the park. We laughed the night before that we were headed to a big sandbox. The size of the park was so impressive. 275 square miles of gypsum sand dunes. It was like being on a different plant. We hiked around, following markers in the sand and trying not to get lost as everything looked the same.
We couldn’t leave without playing in the sand by sledding down the dunes. We all took turns going down the hill like a bunch of kids.
Ended the day with dinner at a surprisingly beautiful restaurant. And then off to bed for the journey to Carlsbad the next day.
